I believe it is ridiculous how this school is operating. Children naturally need to play and have fun. Run around, let off steam, and just play. Taking this away from the children will only cause problems. And when you threaten to take it away because of bad behavior, it then becomes a downward slope, having more and more problems. This man sought out the right action, exposing his story to the public, for them to criticize the school and gain support from many. I believe the most amount of learning is done in the later years, where the earlier years are spent growing and learning about life. School shouldn't just be about learning math and science and english, it should be about becoming a more well-rounded person, and it is hard to achieve this when the school is only trying to make you an academic. We should not drill them too hard into studying and understanding every concept thrown their way. Let them have recess, and social periods because every child needs it. I believe this school should change it's structure and evaluate it's learning process.

  1. I completely agree. Recess is a necessity for kids that is why it is apart of every school, but when it gets taken away kids no longer have the mindset to focus in class. The kids just want to run wild, i know from personal experience.
check out this link it supports what you are saying.

  2. Yes I certainly agree with your opinion on the matter. Children need to have fun and socialize with other children to really have a well-rounded education. The United States has said that they will be implementing research books as the new curriculum. This is the wrong thing entirely; they want to teach students facts that they will need to join the workforce. Well then, what is more important, a well-rounded student or an ignorant, socially numb robot. The idea of removing classic novels is very upsetting, I certainly learned a lot about society and myself when reading these various novels.

  3. Although I agree with your statement about keeping students well rounded, and not only focusing on academics, I don't agree with you when you say most of your learning is done later in life. You learn all throughout your life. I don't think you can say the most amount of learning is done while you're older. I think the most amount of academic learning is done in the later years, while during the younger years you learn more about life. As for your point about being well rounded, I agree completely. Schools have to keep in mind that school is about so much more than academics.

    1. Yes, I meant most of your academic learning is done, more or less, in high school, and when you are young, you learn a lot from the world around you.

    2. I agree with Eric's point. We learn throughout the whole life including academic staff.

  4. Totally agreed with our comments on this school. I remember the phrases of "useful idiot" using in the speech. Children should have their right to play and relax. I believe that playing can make a progress of one's creation and imagination while relaxing is good for our health. What the school is doing is trying to make the test machine but not the truly useful people. So ,as the teacher said, the school was creating useful idiot.
